MYcroSchool Gainesville Welcomes the
Community at Open House
by Gerald “Zag” Zagaiski
MYcroSchool Gainesville celebrated National School Choice Week with a very successful Open House. Members of the community learned about the school and toured the classrooms. The event had more than 70 participants.
This was not an average Open House. The Gainesville Mayor, Honorable Edward Braddy, and County Commissioner Lee Pinkoson were in attendance and greeted guests at the door.
The program was highlighted with live music performed by a student and his friend. There was plenty of pizza sponsored by Stevi B’s Pizza and soft drinks provided by Pepsi Bottling Company. Door prizes donated by several local stores were given out prior to the end of the Open House.
The evening was capped off with two new students who chose to get back in school and enrolled in our program.
The Open House received widespread attention from the local media: the Gainesville Sun visited our campus and wrote an article on the school that was on the front page of the local news section. It was entitled “Smaller Classes at MYcroSchool Foster Student Success.”
MYcroSchool Gainesville was also featured on the TV news.
