In honor of “National School Choice Week,” MYcroSchool Gainesville students had the opportunity to visit with recruiters from the Army, as well as a representative from City College.
Staff Sergeants Jacqueline Lopez and Carmelo Nell spoke with students about careers in the military while Ms. Kimberly Bowden-Cooper was on campus to discuss college options.
Students also met with Kim Barton, a volunteer from the office of Alachua County Supervisor of Elections, who registered them to vote.
Ms. Tanaka Gates, the Certified Navigator with Meridian Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. was on hand to assist students with enrolling in the Healthcare Marketplace Insurance program. Since 2015, interested MYcroSchool students have had the opportunity to receive onsite weekly mental health counseling through Meridian. Pictured is MYcroSchool Gainesville Ashley Adams.
MYcroSchool administration and staff are continually seeking outreach services to meet the many needs of their student population.
Thank you to Nan Thomas, English/Reading Teacher for providing a write-up and photos from the event.
