by Rachel Maldonado

MYcroSchool Jacksonville participated in the annual Duval Public School District Magnet Mania/School Choice Expo last month. This is a huge event held at the Prime Osborn Convention Center and more than 5,000 families attend the School Choice Expo annually.

Schools and learning organizations from all over Duval County were represented. The entire staff attended which created a sense of excitement, camaraderie, and teamwork.

The Duval (DCPS) Magnet Programs are one of the nation’s most successful magnet programs, according to the U.S. Department of Education. MYcroSchool Jacksonville is one of the county’s up-and-coming gems for school choice servicing “at-promise” students.

Currently, MYcroSchool Jacksonville has 275 students enrolled and has become quite popular for “at-promise” students in the DCPS system. MYcroSchool Jacksonville looks forward to the graduation of approximately 12 seniors in February 2014.
