MYcroSchool Jacksonville students spread the word at Magnet ManiaMYcroSchool Jacksonville attended the Duval County School System Magnet Mania in January. This event was held in the Prime F Osborn III Convention Center in Jacksonville and allowed a forum for magnet and charter schools to showcase their programs to parents and students of the county.

Staff members Kelly Treat, Stephen Booth, and Korey Harrington talked to many prospective parents and students. Students Rhaheem Hutchinson and Okeema Robinson (pictured above) spoke about the many benefits MYcroSchool has to offer. Principal Rachel Maldonado was also available to answer any questions posed by parents and students. Rachel’s children, Helena and Michael Maldonado, were a great help handing out flyers and promoting the school.

MYcroSchool Jacksonville staff spread the word at Magnet ManiaThe expo also provided excellent opportunities to network with other schools, Duval County administration, and businesses. All in all it was a successful day with the MYcroSchool attracting students for immediate entrance as well as attracting students for the 2013-2014 school year.

Korey Harrington teaches social studies and facilitates professional development at MYcroSchool Jacksonville.
